Orienteering Exercise: Fog training

Key information
Exercise Type: Compass
Target Level: Elite level, Junior level
Intensity: Low, Medium
Preparation time: 15-30 minutes
OCAD Required: Yes
Min participants: 1

The map is removed in most parts of the course - only some circles of the map is left in some places. The runner must use the compass to get between the areas with details. There may/may not be map inside the control circles.

Aim: Train the use of compass. Use details that you usually wouldn't use in your orienteering.
Variants: You can also use the No-map compass training exercise which is one step more difficult.
Aids: Need OCAD to make the map.
Terrain: Mostly flat, but other terrain will also do for this type of compass training when using the "non-foggy areas" smartly.
Preparations: Make course with "foggy areas". See Tips_on_OCAD_usage for tips on how to make it in OCAD.
Tips: Variation is always fun! This is a good way to have compass training in areas where not all of the map is suitable for compass training exercises.
