Orienteering Exercise: Never stop
Key information
Exercise Type: | Map reading, Flow, Sprint orienteering, Map contact, Speed adaption |
---|---|
Target Level: | Elite level, Junior level, Intermediate level |
Intensity: | Low, Medium, High |
Preparation time: | Less than 5 minutes |
OCAD Required: | No |
Min participants: | 1 |
Run a normal course, but you are never allowed to stop! That is, you have to keep running all the time. If you don't know where to run or need to relocate, you have to keep running on the spot (but this should be avoided, you should rather run more slowly ahead of this point).
Aim: | The aim of this exercise is to get a good flow in the orienteering - never stopping, just flowing through the terrain. When you focus on never stopping, you will automatically get a better flow in your running. This exercise can be repeated many times - also in competitions, slowly increasing the speed. |
---|---|
Variants: | A variant of this exercise is to try to run with a constant pace all the way - also "through" the controls. |
Aids: | No special aids required. |
Terrain: | |
Preparations: | |
Tips: | You can use this exercise in regular orienteering competitions. This is a good exercise also for sprint orienteering. |
